Cloning Ban Resolution Voted Out of House Committee - Contact Rules Committee Members to Urge Passage of HJR 11
Thanks to the excellent work of the MCC’s Citizen Network and other pro-life citizens, HJR 11, sponsored by Rep. Jim Lembke (R-St. Louis County), which proposes a constitutional amendment prohibiting human cloning, was voted do pass on Tuesday, March 27 from the House Health Care Policy Committee. The resolution now goes to the House Rules Committee which can either send it back to the House Health Care Policy Committee or vote it “do pass” and send it to the House floor for debate.
It is important that this resolution be brought before the entire House for a full and fair debate and voted upon. It is important that pro-life Missouri citizens immediately contact members of the House Rules Committee and urge them to vote to send HJR 11 to the full House of Representatives for debate and passage.
ACTION:
- Contact the members of the House Rules Committee (listed below) and urge them to vote “Do Pass” on HJR 11.
- Let the MCC know of any responses you receive from legislators.
MESSAGE
HJR 11 proposes a constitutional amendment prohibiting human cloning. Missouri citizens were stripped of their right to vote on a ban on human cloning through the deceptive language of Amendment 2 which allows human cloning in Missouri. HJR 11 will give voters the opportunity to vote on whether or nor to allow human cloning in Missouri without any deceptive language and still support ethical stem cell research. Vote HJR 11 “do pass” and send it to the House floor for a full and fair debate.
