The Public Policy Committee advises Missouri’s bishops on issues that affect the common good of all Missourians. Each member serves a three-year term, is nominated by one of the bishops and approved by the Board of Directors.
Diane Matous is currently the Director of Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. Diane gratuded Magna Cum Laude from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Biology/Secondary Education. She worked as a volunteer lay missionary in Coahuila, Mexico from 2001 - 2003, assisting the parochial vicar in forming a youth missionary group and promoting natural family planning. Diane is a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Kansas City.
Michael Haltermann is the Chief Executive Officer of Catholic Charities of Kansas City in the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. Michael has extensive experience in the health care industry. Prior to Catholic Charities, he was Vice President and Administrator of Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis where he provided leadership for a 475-bed hospital. He has a MA in Health Management from Webster University and an MA in Counseling and Guidance from Truman State University. Michael is married and a member of Holy Family Church in Kansas City.
Hector Molina is currently the Director of Hispanic Ministry for the Archdiocese of St. Louis and serves as the Archdiocesan Coordinator of the Justice for Immigrants Campaign. Previously, Hector served on the Diocesan Pastoral Council in the Diocese of Brooklyn, New York. He is married and a member of the Cathedral Basilica in St. Louis.
Frank Daub from the Archdiocese of St. Louis, is currently the Internal Communications Manager at Watlow Electric Manufacturing Company. Frank has an MA in both Mass Communication and Business from Webster University. He received the John G. Napoli Award for Excellence in Teaching from St. Louis University. Frank was previously an upper and middle school teacher at Gateway Academy and Director of Corporate Communications at SSM Health Care System. He is married and a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Florissant.
Msgr. Raphael P. Keyes is the pastor of St. Anthony Parish in Camdenton in the Diocese of Jefferson City. Fr. Keyes served as a prish priest in Peru for 35 years. He was Dean/Vicar of a Pastoral Zone in the Diocese of Ica under three different Peruvian bishops and served as a member of Diocesan Consultors of Ica. Fr. Keyes also served on the Mining and Human Rights Pastoral committees. During his time in Peru he also served as coordinator of the Jefferson City Mission Group and was Bishop McAuliffe’s representative to the civic and religious authorities. He also founded the Peru Solidarity Forum with the support of the Diocese of Jefferson City.
Leon Witt is currently the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau and he has a master degree in School Administration. Leon has previously worked as a teacher and principal before his appointment as Superintendent of Schools in 1975. He serves as co-chairperson on the Safe Enviroment committee and is vice president of the Missouri Council for American Private Education board. He is married and is a member of St. Joseph Parish in Springfield.
