After overriding Gov. Nixon’s veto of the religious liberty bill (Senate Bill 749), what better person to have as the keynote speaker for the Missouri Catholic Conference’s Annual Assembly than the chief spokesperson for the U.S. Bishops on religious freedom issues, Archbishop William Lori?

Archbishop Lori is a native of Louisville, Ky. He is the supreme chaplain for the Knights of Columbus and heads the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Liberty.

It will be interesting to hear how Archbishop Lori views the passage of Missouri’s new religious liberty bill as part of the national effort to protect religious liberty.
