CEF, Knights Spearhead Scholarship Petition

Citizens for Educational Freedom (CEF) and the Missouri Knights of Columbus are spearheading an initiative petition that proposes to amend the state constitution so that students can receive scholarships to attend k-12 schools, including Catholic schools. The Missouri Catholic Conference and the Missouri Bishops support this effort.

To be placed on the Nov. 6, 2012, ballot, this initiative must be signed by about 150,000 Missouri voters statewide. Sufficient signatures must be obtained from at least six Missouri congressional districts with the voter signature requirements per district ranging from 22,000 to 30,000.

“Passage of this Missouri Initiative Petition for Education Tax Credits will Stimulate and Increase Individual and Corporation Donations and Funding for ALL Public and Private Not-for-Profit Elementary (K-8), Secondary (9-12), Community College (2 year). University (4 year) and Educational Organizations, Corporations, Institutions and Foundations.”
