Children’s Education Initiative – Signatures Keep Coming

Parishes and Catholic schools continue to send the MCC bundles of notarized petition pages with the signatures of voters who want the Children’s Education Initiative (CEI) placed on the November election ballot. CEI would provide a tax credit to encourage donations to education foundations that assist both public and nonpublic school children, including those with special needs.

One of the more remarkable submissions has been from St. Mary’s Church in Joplin. The parish is currently operating out of an old grocery store, as their church was destroyed by the May 2011 EF5 tornado. St Mary’s sent the MCC 283 signatures representing participation by over 50% of their households. Thank you St. Mary’s!
