Legislators React to Greitens’ Indictment

State legislators are reacting to news of the grand jury indictment of Governor Eric Greitens. The governor has been charged by indictment with felony invasion of privacy stemming from an extramarital affair he had in 2015.

The governor says he is innocent. He has vowed to stay on as chief executive. Legislators, including Republican leadership, are questioning whether this is a good idea at this point. In a joint statement, top legislative Republicans said they will investigate the charges: “We will carefully examine the facts contained in the indictment and answer the question as to whether or not the governor can lead our state while a felony case moves forward.” Read this AP article for more reactions from legislators.
