Missouri Senate Passes Religious Liberty Bill

Think your voice doesn’t matter? Think again. After Tuesday’s Rally for Religious Liberty on March 27, the Missouri Senate took up and passed SB 749. This bill, sponsored by Sen. John Lamping (R-Clayton), prohibits government from forcing either employers or employees from paying for abortion drugs, contraceptives or sterilizations through their health plans.

The final approval came on Thursday, March 29, when SB 749 passed by a vote of 26 to 5 with three absent. The bill now moves move to the Missouri House of Representatives for that body’s consideration.
