Refugees are people fleeing war and persecution in their native country. Right now the world is witnessing the greatest displacement of people since the end of World War II. This is a humanitarian crisis on a truly global scale.
The U.S. has a thorough security clearance process, but there is still a strong push to cut refugee admissions. At this time the United States is considering how many refugees to accept. One proposal is to cut refugee admissions to as little as 45,000. Our country can do better than this. You can send a message to Congress and President Trump urging a more compassionate refugee policy. Take action now; See Catholic Charities USA Alert.
