This week, the MCC sent out an Action Alert urging MOCAN members to contact Missouri’s U.S. Senators and their Congressperson in regard to funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). If Congress fails to extend funding for CHIP soon, the health care of over 87,000 Missouri children will be put at risk. Technically, Congress was supposed to fund the program by September 30; however, Congress can still extend the funding in the next several months, and they should do so.
