Catholic School Students Eligible for State Virtual Education Courses

In 2007 the Missouri Catholic Conference successfully amended legislation that become state law (Section 167.670 RSMo.) that allows private elementary and secondary school students to participate in the Missouri Virtual Instruction Program (MoVIP).

The cost for a course, which runs for about 18 weeks, ranges from $255 to $400.  The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) contracts with various providers that offer the courses. Parents can directly apply for the on-line courses by visiting theMoVIP website. Private schools can agree to pay for these courses, or the costs can be borne by the parents.

MoVIP courses are especially popular for students who want instruction in a foreign language not offered at their school. However, there are many other courses also offered. Visit the MoVIP website to learn more!
