Departed Daughter Invited to Ride Wooden Horse Home in Family’s Dia de Muertos Celebration

In Mexico, Dia de Muertos or the Day of the Dead, is a major festival. For this special day, also known as All Souls Day, communities hold parades and families prepare special foods and candlelit shrines to invite departed loved ones to come home for a special visit. In this Discovery Channel video, family and neighbors gather together to place offerings of flowers and fruit on a small wooden horse as an invitation for their departed daughter to ride back home. The National Geographic website provides more details on this special day.
