The MCC will release our first Messenger Online today. The online version of the Messenger will highlight topics of interest to the Catholic community and will often include a video along with the four page spread.
The first issue covers a program in St. Louis called the Advanced Skill Workforce Centers (ASWC). Formed by a group of painters from the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (IUPAT) District Council 58 and ex-NFL player Demetrious Johnson, the program gives St. Louis men a second chance at a better life by teaching them how to paint. After completing the 14-week unpaid program, graduates are guaranteed a full-time union career. The program is partially funded by a donation from the IUPAT, and by the personal contributions of program leaders. To learn more about the ASWC, please read our Messenger Online and watch the video testimony from students, graduates and leaders of the program.
