After completing one week in office, Governor Greitens delivered his State of the State address to the General Assembly on Tuesday night. Some of his priorities included his campaign promises to address corruption in the capitol by banning lobbyists gifts and closing the revolving door of lawmakers becoming lobbyists. He also called for passage of Right-to-Work legislation and reducing government regulations on businesses. Normally in the State of the State Address, governors outline their budget priorities. However, newly-elected governor Greitens did not include budget recommendations in his address. He intends to release this document in early February amid a projected shortfall of $450 million for the upcoming fiscal year.
