This week, the State of Missouri was granted a new hearing before an appeals court to determine if the supplier of lethal injection drugs used for death penalty executions should be kept anonymous. The State requested the hearing after a three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals earlier this month said that the identity of the supplier should be made public. In asking for a new hearing, the State claimed that the supplier would not provide the drugs if their identity was revealed. The court also allowed for the supplier to enter the case and be identified anonymously. No date has been set for the hearing.
