House Committee Preserves Funding for ATA

This week the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Health, Mental Health and Social Services gave a “DO PASS” to HB 10 and HB 11. HB 11 is the proposed state budget for the Missouri Department of Social Services (DSS). An amendment to reduce funding by $2 million for the Alternative to Abortions (ATA) failed and the subcommittee ended up staying with Governor Greitens’ recommendation to fund the program at $6.4 million. The next step is for the bills to be considered by the House Budget Committee. Stay tuned for more.
