Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster and the Missouri Senate have launched separate investigations into whether Planned Parenthood clinics or others in Missouri are selling fetal body parts of aborted babies. Koster said: “My office will investigate whether the practices described [in the recent Planned Parenthood videos] have occurred within our state and whether Missouri law has been violated.”
The Senate investigation will be headed by Senator Kurt Schaefer (R-Columbia). Schaefer said that if the allegations prove to be true, Planned Parenthood should lose its license and be stripped of all its federal funds. The Senate Committee is to submit a report by December 1 so that legislators can evaluate the information in preparing legislation for the 2016 session of the Missouri General Assembly.
