While the prospects for passing sweeping legislation to reform and expand Medicaid do not look promising as the general assembly enters the final weeks of this year’s session, there is still hope for offering health coverage in areas such as dental care as well as occupational, speech, and physical therapy. A new Show-Me Healthy Babies program is also gaining support; this program would expand health coverage to more unborn children. St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Virginia Young filed an informative article on these latest developments.
