A new report issued in part by the Missouri Chamber of Commerce indicates expanding Medicaid would greatly benefit the working poor in Missouri. About 34,000 working in the food industry could gain health coverage, while another 24,000 people in sales could be assisted. Other occupations where Medicaid could provide health benefits would include: cleaning and maintenance, office and administrative support, construction, personal care services (barbers, child care workers), production work (butchers, laundry workers), and home health aides.
