Missouri Adoption Records Law is Changing in 2018: Read More in Latest MCC Messenger

The latest MCC Messenger, out in all diocesan papers in April and available atmocatholic.org, focuses entirely on Missouri’s changing adoption records law.

Effective January 1, 2018, adult adoptees born in Missouri will have access to their original birth certificates. Birth parents who wish not to have their names included on the birth certificate must opt out before the adoptee files a request, otherwise, both names will be available to the adoptee.

Please read the full Messenger to learn more about this change in the adoption records law. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 573-635-7239 or by email at mocatholic@mocatholic.org, OR contact the Missouri Bureau of Vital Records directly at 573-751-6387 or by email at vitalrecordsinfo@health.mo.gov.
