The Missouri House of Representatives this week approved extending the sunset date on tax credits that benefit pregnancy resource centers and maternity homes. By a vote of 122-33, the House third read and passed HB 655, sponsored by Representative Kevin Engler (R-Farmington). This program provides Missouri citizens with a 50% state tax credit for donations over $100 made to these pro-life organizations in any given year. By statute, the program “sunsets” and must be re-authorized every 5-6 years. HB 655 now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
