Missouri House Committee Hears Testimony Concerning Disposition of Fetal Remains from Abortion

This week, the Missouri House Children and Families Committee heard testimony on HB 194, sponsored by Rep. Diane Franklin (R-Camdenton). This bill seeks to close loop holes in Missouri law to ensure that all fetal remains from abortions performed in Missouri are submitted to a pathologist for examination and disposed of properly, rather than diverted for other purposes. The bill would also prohibit a person from donating fetal tissue from an abortion for research purposes other than to diagnose any fetal anomalies or other diseases.

The Missouri Catholic Conference joined other pro-life groups testifying in favor of the bill.  Stay tuned for further developments on this bill as the legislative session progresses.
