Pope Francis on Climate Change Crisis

In his 2015 encyclical letter, Laudato Si’, Pope Francis sounded an alarm about the grave implications to our common home, Earth, due to climate change. The Holy Father said that climate change could lead to rising sea levels and more erratic weather, posing serious hardships, especially for the world’s poor.

In Laudato Si’, Pope Francis called for action: “There is an urgent need to develop policies so that, in the next few years, the emission of carbon dioxide and other highly polluting gases can be drastically reduced, for example, substituting for fossil fuels and developing sources of renewable energy.”
