Pope Francis accented his message calling for peace in the Middle East by issuing an invitation to the leaders of both Israel and Palestine to come to the Vatican for a common prayer for peace. It was later announced that both the offices of Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas had accepted the invitation. According to Vatican sources, the leaders will meet at the Vatican on June 8th, the Feast of Pentecost.
