Protecting Youth From Sexual Predators Supported

This week, the MCC testified in support of HB 501, sponsored by Representative Genise Montecillo (D-St. Louis), that would add new provisions to Missouri’s existing sex education guidelines for K-12 public schools. The new provisions would ensure students are taught about the dangers of sexual predators, including online predators. The MCC noted that text messaging and other emerging technology presented new dangers that students should be aware of.  No further action was taken on the bill.
