Remand of Little Sisters of the Poor Case a Call for Continued Negotiation

As this Crux article points out, the remand of the Little Sisters of the Poor case by the U.S. Supreme Court is a call by the court for continued consideration of the issues. Though the court didn’t address the actual merits of the case, the court did vacate the lower orders of the federal courts, thereby preventing the Obama administration from imposing fines upon the parties for failure to comply with the mandate.

The issue is not resolved, however, and continued negotiations must take place to find a way to resolve the issue for the insurers of the parties, some of whom have religious objections to providing the contraceptive coverage themselves. Mary, Mother of God, pray for us!
