San Francisco Archbishop Cordileone Speaks at March for Marriage in DC

San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone spoke this week at a March for Marriage in Washington, D.C., despite requests by former U.S. House speaker Nancy Pelosi and gay rights advocates not to participate.  The Archbishop of San Francisco, Cordileone addressed the importance the institution of marriage between one man and one woman and of children knowing and being loved by their mother and father stating, “Every child comes from a man and a woman, and has a right, a natural human right, to know and be known by, to love and be loved by, their own mother and father. This is the great public good that marriage is oriented towards and protects.” The March for Marriage was the second in what is expected to be an annual event defending the traditional understanding of marriage in the U.S.
