U.S. Senators have apparently worked out a compromise on the immigration reform bill that will dramatically beef up security along the U.S. southern border. The emerging deal would double the Border Patrol with 20,000 new agents, 18 new unmanned surveillance drones and 700 miles of fencing. The legislation would retain a path to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented now residing in the U.S. If the compromise holds, a vote by the end of next week is expected.
