St. Benedict’s Feast Day is Saturday

Saturday is the feast day of St. Benedict of Nursia (480-547), who is credited with initiating a form of monasticism that came to be followed by monasteries throughout Western Europe. His Rule of St. Benedict offered practical guidance for how Christians could live in community through a balanced life of prayer, work and rest. It is a Rule still observed today by monks, religious and many lay people. Here is a brief biography of Saint Benedict; also check out this Rule of St. Benedict video.
