Take the Pledge to End the Death Penalty

Pope Francis has called on all Christians and people of good will to fight not only for the abolition of the death penalty but also to improve prison conditions with respect for the human dignity of people deprived of their freedom.

In response to Pope Francis’ call, the Catholic Mobilizing Network has developed a pledge to educate, advocate and pray for the end of the death penalty. The death penalty represents a failure of our society to fulfill the demand of human dignity as evidenced by the 159 people who have been exonerated due to their innocence since 1973. You can take the pledge here.
