Taylor Guitar Seeks to Save Ebony Forests

Ebony is prized by musicians throughout the world for its use in creating high-quality violins, guitars and other wood instruments. That demand, however, has decimated the ebony forests. Today, Cameroon represents the final frontier for this precious wood. Taylor Guitar has been granted approval from Cameroon’s Ministry of Forest and Fauna to replant ebony trees and manage the existing ebony forests.

Taylor Guitar wants to save the ebony forests for future generations, including future generations of musicians. This is an inspiring story about how corporations can provideĀ just wages to Third World workers while at the same time preserving and replenishing native eco-systems.
