The Sisters of Troost: Catholic Sisters Respond to Human Trafficking, Poverty and Addiction in KC

In our latest edition of Messenger, the MCC focused on the human trafficking industry in Missouri, the United States and worldwide. We interviewed Sr. Jeanne Christensen, Justice Advocate and Sister of Mercy, who works to educate people about human trafficking in Kansas City and surrounding areas.

In a related story, the Kansas City Star this week published an article about Catholic sisters, in response to the urging of Vatican II 50 years ago, who work along Troost Avenue in Kansas City to try to intervene in the dangerous lives of prostitutes, the poor and addicted.
