U.S. Supreme Court Declines to Hear Pharmacist Conscience Rights Case

As the U.S. Supreme Court’s term winded down this week, the Court refused to intervene in a case from Washington state involving a small, family owned pharmacy seeking relief from a state law mandating it dispense the emergency contraceptives Plan B and Ella.

Justice Alito, writing a dissent on the decision not to take the case, proclaimed, “this case is an ominous sign” for religious liberty. The case evidences the importance of the bishop’s “Fortnight for Freedom” in raising awareness and seeking God’s intercession for the protection of religious liberty in America.
